We offer personal assistance with filing for various Veterans’ Benefits. We can determine eligibility and file the necessary paperwork for you to receive entitlements. Every honorably discharged veteran of the US Armed Forces is entitled to a United States Flag for burial purposes. Other benefits may include burial in a VA national cemetery, a headstone / grave marker and a burial benefit towards funeral / burial expenses, depending upon the circumstances. We notify the Social Security Administration and assist in applying for benefits. SSA will pay a benefit of $255 to a surviving spouse or a dependant child. Other benefits may also be available. Certificates are purchased through the Pennsylvania Department of Health. You may either contact our funeral home at (814) 695-9551 or call the Department of Vital Statistics directly at (800) 842-5040 to have an application mailed to you.

Funeral homes have a legal responsibility to place 100% of pre-funded funeral expenses into a trust account or some form of insurance. We can offer suggestions and guidance as to which method may best suit your needs.

People move to different areas of the state or country. Others just have a change of mind over time. Your pre-arrangements belong to you, and you have the right to move them to the funeral home of your choice.
