James C. “Jim” Douglas, age 89, of Duncansville, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday morning, July 4, 2019. He was born July 7, 1929 in Canoe Creek, a son of the late William C. and Hannah M. (Norris) Douglas. He married Lu Ann Appleyard on March 31, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio.
Survived by his wife Lu Ann Douglas; a daughter Kim Mladenik of North Carolina; two sons: Troy Douglas of Altoona and Christopher “Henry” Heckler of Georgia; three grandchildren: Taylor, Collin and Milo; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Anna Mary May of Washington and Elizabeth Boettcher of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Rhonda Douglas; a son Jimmy Douglas; a sister Almeda Miller; and two brothers: Billy and Daniel Douglas.
Jim retired as a truck driver for Central Transport. He was a member of Canoe Creek Brethren in Christ Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with the grandchildren, and being outdoors at the family cabin in Canoe Creek.
