Lillian Emilie Shaputnic, age 93, of Claysburg, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. She was born October 9, 1925 in Newark, NJ and lived many years in N. Huntindon, PA and Norfolk, VA, before moving to Claysburg.
She is survived by three sons: Gentery McCormick (Carolyn) of Escondido, CA, Kevin McCormick (Katie) of Lexington, KY and Rory McCormick (Tammy) of Lanexa, VA; and five daughters: Victoria Murphy (Robert) of Debary, FL, Helen Bollinger (Robert) of Saint Cloud, FL, Francis Krimin (Robert) of Penn Run, PA, Kathleen Musselman (Michael) of Claysburg, PA, and Carolyn Shaputnic (Gentery) of Escondido, CA. She also enjoyed 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank G. Shaputnic; a son Shawn McCormick; and two sisters: Mae Little and Marion Jasevicius
She was formerly married to the late Gentery McCormick of Newark, NJ.
Lillian was a 1943 graduate of Barringer High School in Newark, NJ. Later, she was a very active member of Miller United Methodist Church in N. Versailles, PA. She joined the Claysburg Methodist Church in 2013, where she started a denim quilt making group. This group supported the national relief organization, Mission Central, which provides assistance in US disaster areas. She enjoyed quilting, as well as collecting seashells, rocks and stamps.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or services. Interment will take place at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
