Ronald B. Weigner, Sr., age 75, of Duncansville, died Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He was born January 4, 1944 in Bulger, a son of the late George and Laura Jane (Campbell) Weigner. He married Joan L. (Geesey) Wallace on Oct. 8, 1984 in McDonald.
Survived by his wife of 36 years, Joan L. Weigner; 4 children: Jackie Cunningham, Ronald Weigner, Jr., Heath Weigner and Charles Weigner; two step-sons: Darrell and Bruce Wallace; 9 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren. Ron was one of 18 children. He is survived by two sisters: Caren Verdone and Carolyen McElhany and three brothers: Donald and Andrew Weigner and Michael Hradil. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters and a step-son Michael Wallace.
Ron was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He also served in the National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a handyman and enjoyed doing carpentry and woodworking.
Friends will be received on Thurs., Oct. 3, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and on Fri., Oct. 4 from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Pastor John D. Leatherman, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment with military honors, accorded by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, will be held at Dry Run Cemetery.
