Betty Focht Obituary

Betty Louise Focht, age 83, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Wilmington, DL, died Sunday morning, November 12, 2017 at UPMC Altoona. Born February 3, 1934 in Waterstreet, daughter of the late Harvey N. and Ethel Margaret (Lingenfelter) Wingard. She married George W. "Bill" Focht on July 21, 1951 in Williamsburg. He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2002.

Survived by a daughter, Michelle L. Focht of Hollidaysburg; 2 sons: William B. (Bettina) of Kunkletown and James A. of Newark, DL; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Helsel (James) of Altoona; a brother, John "Jack" Wingard (Ethel) of Altoona; numerous nieces and nephews; and good friends: Edna and Boyd Potter of Wilmington, DL and Kathryn Stoltz of Duncansville.

She was preceded in death by 2 daughters in 2010: Diane L. Focht and Joni Y. Graham.

Betty was a 1951 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired in 1996 as a nurse's aide at several nursing homes in Delaware and also worked at Lowe's in Delaware for several years.

She was a member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church and also the Richardson Park UMC in Wilmington, DL for many years. She was a past member of the Jobel Court and the Hollidaysburg Eastern Star.

Betty enjoyed reading, crocheting and doing crossword and search-word puzzles.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm on Tues., Nov. 14, 2017 at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville, and on Wed., Nov. 15 from 10am until the 11am funeral service at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 431 W. 2nd St., Williamsburg, officiated by Pastor Heather Wurst. Committal at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
