Brent L Helsel

Brent Lee Helsel, age 62, of Duncansville, passed away Sunday morning, June 2, 2024 at home. He fought cancer courageously for 10 years. He was born March 10, 1962 in Altoona, a son of Dennis Lee and Mary Margaret (Yingling) Helsel.

Surviving are his parents of Duncansville; two brothers: Shawn Helsel (Donna) and Dennis M. Helsel; a niece, Shayna Helsel; and a nephew, Tyler Helsel.

Brent was a 1980 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He began working at an early age for his pap at Yingling’s Garage, pumping gas and checking oil, and then worked for his uncle as a mechanic. In 1988 he started working with his dad and brother in the family construction business.

He loved working on cars and was very meticulous. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and local races, and the time he spent with his niece and nephew while they were growing up.

Brent liked to talk to people and had many friends. He was loved by all.
