Carolyn Mellott Obituary

Carolyn L. Mellott, age 76, of Altoona, died Monday evening, January 11, 2021 at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness. She was born August 1, 1944 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Alfred J. and Lucille M. (Workman) Lee. She married Maple C. Mellott on Jan. 6, 1985. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1995.

She is survived by two daughters: Kimberly Albright (Jim Clark) of Duncansville and Michelle Mellott of Altoona; 5 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Bekah, Aaron, Jay and Andrew Albright; and 6 great-grandchildren:Rylie Murphey, Natalie Musselman, Micah Albright, and Julian, Lorelei and Aurora Rhodes.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, John Kramer in 2010; an infant granddaughter, Hannah; her brother, Robert L. Lee of California; and most recently on Jan. 4, 2021, her sister, Barbara N. Lee, of Henderson, Nevada.

Carolyn was a 1963 graduate of Hollywood High School. She enjoyed assisting her daughter, Michelle, at Special Olympics for many years and helped at the Becky Sheetz Center in Altoona. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going to the ocean, and playing the lottery. Carolyn was a "people person" and always made her friends laugh. She will be missed by her friends and loved ones.

There will be no public viewing at this time.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced.
