Catherine E (Weyandt) Kephart

Catherine E. Kephart, age 91, of Duncansville, died Monday, July 31, 2023 at UPMC Altoona. She was born August 10, 1931 in Claysburg, a daughter of the late William and Ida Bell (Dively) Weyandt. She first married Sheldon M. Palmer on June 20, 1959. He died Feb. 16, 1990. She then married Carl D. Kephart on Oct. 5, 1991. He also preceded her in death on May 24, 2005.

She is survived by four children: Geraldine Ann Palmer, Laverne Rose Moore, Joyce Johnson, and Glenn Kephart; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister Florence ‘Jeanie’ Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a step-son Gary Kephart; four brothers: Mark, Roy, Mike, and Allen Weyandt; 8 sisters: Edna Brown, Mazie Brown, Gladys Ake, Celia Weyandt, Mary Ott, Alice Ake, Dora Claar, and Louise ‘Mirium’ Cavender; and two infant sisters.

Catherine was a member of Hick’s Church, Duncansville.

Friends will be received on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 11am until the 1pm funeral service at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Rev. Rich Morris will officiate. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
