Charles Robert Robertson, age 85, a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, died Wednesday afternoon, October 31, 2018, at the Veterans Home. He was born March 22, 1933 in Altoona, a son of the late Leroy Clifford and Pauline Catherine (Weidlich) Robertson.
Survived by a son, Ben Robertson and wife Julie of Claysburg; two grandchildren: Jeremiah Robertson of Altoona and Britnee Robertson of Claysburg; a step-granddaughter, Cheyennia Ricketts of Altoona; two sisters: Margaret Bonasso of Coraopolis and Carolyn Robertson of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy K. Robertson.
Charles was a graduate of Altoona High School. He was a US Army veteran serving from March 17, 1953 to March 9, 1955, during the Korean Conflict. He worked in construction, first with Bryce Saylor & Sons, then retiring from Fiore's Construction.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
