Dale A Barnes

Dale A. Barnes, age 70, of Newry, died Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Johnstown. He was born August 12, 1954 in Altoona, a son of the late Walter R.   Barnes and Doris Jean (Piper) Peterson.

Surviving is the love of his life and caregiver, Marcella “Butchie” Dodson; a daughter, Erin Barnes; a brother, Walter R. Barnes Jr.; a sister, Tracy Wyatt (Don); a niece, Rachel Wyatt; a nephew, Ryan Peterson; and Marcella’s family that also cared for him.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Tina McCoy, and a nephew, Lucas McCoy.

Dale was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He retired from F.L. Smithe Machine Co. and Cardinal Machine Co.

He loved hanging out in his Carson Valley garage with family and friends.
