Darleanne S (McClellan) Evangelista

Darleanne S. Evangelista, age 90, of Duncansville, died Saturday, November 7, 2020 at UPMC Altoona following an extended illness. She was born February 7, 1930 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Chester E. and Sara Faye (Casner) McClellan. She was twice married: first to John R.T. Snyder, whom preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1970, then to Alfred D. Evangelista, whom also preceded her in death on Dec. 13,1995.

She is survived by children: John R.T. Snyder, Jr. and Susan Snyder, both of Duncansville; two grandsons: John and Jeremy Snyder; and a great-granddaughter, Sophie.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kipp in 2015, and a sister, Donna Jean Buell.

Darleanne was a 1947 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired from BonSecours Hospital, where she worked as an infection control nurse.

She was a member of Hick’s United Methodist Church, where she was a past organist, member of the choir, the Kitchen Class, and a member of United Methodist Women’s Club. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society.

Darleanne enjoyed playing the piano and watching Pirates, Steelers, and PennState games.

Friends will be received from 10am until Noon, immediately followed by a funeral service at Noon, officiated by Rev. Rich Morris, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
