Darrell L Wallace

Darrell L. Wallace, age 72, of Ducansville, died unexpectedly at home on Friday morning, May 24, 2024. He was born March 15, 1952 in Altoona, a son of the late Harvey S. Wallace and Joan L. (Geesey) Weigner. He married Gloria Jean “Jeannie” Nolan in 1980 in Winchester, VA.

Surviving is his wife, Jeannie; four sons: Robert Cherry, Joseph Cherry, David Cherry, and Corey Cherry; 8 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Wallace in 1994 and his step-father, Ronald B. Weigner, Sr. in 2019.

Darrell was a 1970 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He worked as a carman for Conrail and retired from Norfolk-Southern. He loved farming and worked on the family farm. He also help tend buffalo at Curry’s farm.

He was a member of Christ Church in Roaring Spring, the Hollidaysburg Lions Club and the Bavarian Aid Society. Darrell enjoyed hunting, tinkering with machinery, and previously flew model airplanes.

There will be no public services. Interment will take place at Dry Run Cemetery.
