Dennis B Berkey

Dennis B. Berkey, age 75, formerly of Duncansville, died Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. He was born June 8, 1945 in Altoona, a son of the late Quentin E. and Grace M. (Weaver) Berkey.

He is survived by two daughters: Danielle Glotfelty (Troy) of Berlin and Dana Brinkel (Ed) of Altoona; a grandson, Preston Glotfelty; a sister, Shirley Diehl of Puzzeltown; and his former spouse, Deborah Blackburn-Burton of Winter Haven, FL. He was preceded in death by a brother Donald and an infant brother Gary.

Dennis was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He retired as a drill operator for Cooney Brothers Coal Co.

Dennis built and flew model airplanes and was a past member of the Altoona RC Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting guns and targets. He loved the outdoors, his camp, and especially his daughters.

Friends will be received from Noon to 2pm on Tues., Aug. 11, 2020, immediately followed by a funeral service at 2pm, all at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment with military honors, accorded by Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, will take place at Newry Lutheran Cemetery.
