Donald J Hoover Jr

Donald J. "Don" Hoover, Jr., age 63, of Altoona, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at UPMC Altoona after a long hard fight with cancer. He was born September 4, 1962 in Altoona, son of the late Donald J. Sr. and Joan (Stahly) Hoover.

Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Bonnie; two sons, DJ III (Bailey) and Joey (Kaylee); and six grandchildren: Camden, Denver, Kinsleigh, Kimber, Gunner, and Walker.

Don worked most of his life in the car business, as to which many would say he was one of the best in the game. "BIG DON" met a lot of people along his journey that became life long friends.

He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and Penn State football. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed just spending time with his family and grandchildren.

At Don’s request, there will be no public viewing. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
