Donna L. (Brown) Showalter, age 74, Fredericksburg, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. She was born August 12, 1947 in Saxton, a daughter of the late George E. and Freda L. (Winegardner) Brown of Saxton.
Surviving are 6 sisters: Betty Black, wife of Leroy “Sam” (deceased), Shirley Brown, Trudy Fagan, wife of Wayne, Nancy Molosky, Kathy Gresko, wife of Gregory (deceased), and Cindy Bopp; 10 nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth L. Showalter in 1989; and loving companion Rick Oakes in 2013.
Donna was a 1965 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and a 1969 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in art education. She taught art for several years in the Huntingdon area before relocating to Virginia Beach, VA. There Donna enjoyed a lucrative career selling her artwork at shows throughout Virginia. She returned to Pennsylvania after retiring in 2008 from Sherwin-Williams, where she was a design consultant.
Donna enjoyed gardening, antiquing, art, and spending time with her family and beloved cats.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
