Elizabeth A (Sippola) Resig-Luther

Elizabeth A. Resig-Luther, age 82, formerly of Duncansville, died Wednesday evening, October 24, 2018, at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg. She was born August 19, 1936 in Conneaut, OH, a daughter of the late Emil Arvo and Mildred (Curtis) Sippola. She was twice married, first to ex-husband Donald J. Resig, who preceded her in death in 2008, then to ex-husband Kenneth Luther, who also preceded her in death in 2016.

Survived by 9 children: Deborah A. Curfman (John) of Duncansville, Kenneth M. Resig (Diane) of Beaver, Joseph M. Resig (Maddie) of Altoona, David B. Resig of Duncansville, Michelle D. Resig (Steve) of Laurel, MD, Andrea J. Campbell (Daniel) of Duncansville, Lisa M. Stoops (Richard) in Florida, Mary L. Ulsh (Joseph) of Duncansville, and Lawrence Resig (Lisa) of Duncansville; 12 grandchildren: Michael, Wayne, James, Kenneth, Sara, Jeremie, Jason, Matthew, Nicole, Philip, Amanda, and Joseph; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Martha Parry of Cortland, OH and Barbara Jean Rapp in Hawaii.

Elizabeth was a 1955 graduate of South High School in Youngstown, OH. She retired as a CNA, where she worked at VA hospitals and various home nursing agencies. She had worked with Blair Senior Services and Allegheny Lutheran Home as a senior companion.

Elizabeth was active in various church organizations. She was a previous member of the Red Hat Society, the Chimrock Squares, the Eldo Squares, and the Blair Senior Services center. She was a former Cub Scout Den mother, a Girl Scout leader, and a 4-H leader. She enjoyed dancing and crafting.

Friends will be received on Sun., Oct. 28, 2018 from 2pm until the 4pm funeral service, officiated by Pastor Timothy Guyer, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1218 4th Ave, Duncansville.
