Eunice G (Berkey) Weaver

Eunice G. Weaver, age 89, of Newry, died Sunday evening, August 29, 2021, at home, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. She was born April 18, 1932 in Newry, a daughter of the late Kenneth M. and Julia E. (Duganne) Berkey. She married Thomas E. Weaver, Sr. on June 30, 1951 at St. Patrick’s Church, Newry. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1997.

Surviving are five daughters: Cathy Mastropasqua of Duncansville, Julie “Pixie” Weaver of Duncansville, Suzanne Henry of Newry, Amy Glass of Newport News, VA, and Charlotte Lantz of Newry; a son, Kevin J. Weaver of Newry; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Berkey, Jr. of GA; and two sisters: Barbara Brooke and Beverly Good, both of FL.

She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas E. Weaver, Jr. in 2009; three sisters: Phyllis Campbell, Edith Longo, and Charlotte Berkey; and a brother, Francis Berkey.

Eunice was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of TOPS Club in Duncansville for many years, where she was a weight recorder. Eunice enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved reading, gardening and baking. She was famous for her Gobs.

At the request of the deceased, all services will be private. Interment will take place at Newry Lutheran Cemetery.
