Eva L. Coho, age 85, formerly of Maple Hollow, Duncansville, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband and children at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born July 29, 1937 in Puzzletown, a daughter of the late Leo F. and Olene A. (Baker) Lanzendorfer. On August 11, 1956, she married the love of her life, Charles Edward Coho, and in a couple months they would have celebrated 67 years of wedded bliss. They had five children together.
Survived by her loving husband; three children: Donald Edward and wife Debra Darone, Jennifer Lynn and husband Dennis Eger, and Stephanie Ann and husband Byron Lee Mauer; three very special granddaughters whom she dearly loved and adored: Danielle (James Spencer), and Alyssa and Carly Maurer; and three sister-in-laws: Ruth Coho, Leona Lanzendorfer, and Glenda Lanzendorfer.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Loretta Mary, who was born and passed on May 12, 1958; her oldest son, Mark Devon Coho on September 19, 2021; her parents, Leo and Olene Lanzendorfer; brothers and sisters and their spouses: Earl, Leo Jr. (Ruth), Raymond (Bertha), William (Ginny), Roger (Alberta), Clair (LaRue), Louis (Agnes), Floyd (Cora), Dennis, Melvin “Skip” Lanzendorfer, and Rita (Joseph) Noel; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Coho; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Eva was a 1955 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, where she had been crowned May Queen. She worked in the camera and jewelry department at K-Mart and had many dedicated customers who would stop her in the mall or on the streets to say ‘hello’. She also developed a very special relationship with her co-workers and they formed a lunch group after retirement and stayed in touch.
After retiring, Eva joined the Catholic Daughters of the Americas – Our Lady of the Alleghenies Court #1755 on November 15, 2001 and served as their local Regent from 2008 through 2012.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Duncansville, where she had served as lector, Eucharistic minister, and hospitality member.
Eva was loved by all who met her and lit up a room with her smile.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 5 to 8pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville, where a Rosary Service will be held starting at 4:30pm, led by the Catholic Daughters. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
