Frances J. Durbin, age 71, of Duncansville, died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at UPMC Altoona, following a brief illness. She was born November 7, 1948 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Rudolph E. and Martha M. (Fochler) Gey. She married William F. Durbin on Aug. 23, 1969 at St. Mary’s Church, Altoona.
Survived by her husband; a daughter, Laura Bowser (Richard) of Lancaster; a son, Thomas Durbin (Joanna) of Boiling Springs; and three grandchildren: Ava and Sadie Bowser and Olivia Durbin.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Caracciolo and Mary Ann Hauser.
Frances was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, where she was a volunteer, and was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She enjoyed going to the YMCA, bike riding on the Rails to Trails, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and reading.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm on Mon., Sept. 28, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Tues., Sept. 29 at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
