Francis F Eger

Francis F. Eger, age 81, of Carson Valley, Duncansville, died Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring, following a brief illness. He was born February 14, 1943 at home in Carson Valley, a son of the late George Joseph and Violet Mae (Baughman) Eger. He married Pauline J. Smith on May 23, 1964 in Hollidaysburg.

Surviving is his wife; three children: Dennis Eger (Jennifer (Coho)), Tina Ratchford (Patrick), and Ronald Eger (Jennifer (Snowberger)); 5 grandchildren: Ashley Miller (Jeff), Payton Hollopeter (Josh), and Kaitlynn, Emily, and Eli Eger; 5 great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Oaklynn, Jerrick, Jensen, and JJ; a brother, James Eger; and two sisters, Louise Priester and Patricia Ray.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Corle and Rose Gorman, and 6 brothers: Joseph, Charles, Harold, Paul, Herbert, and Julius Eger.

Francis retired from Madden Boiler & Welding as a welder.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting, spending time in his garage with friends and family, and watching TV, especially baseball, football, old Westerns, and Andy Griffith.

Friends will be received on Mon., November 25, 2024 from 3pm until the 7pm funeral service at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Rev. Rich Morris will officiate. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
