Freda M (McKelvey) Morrison

Freda M. (McKelvey) Morrison, age 97, of Duncansville, went into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville. She was born May 21, 1926 in Tipton, daughter of the late Norbert and C. Pearl (Whitsel) McKelvey. On October 21, 1946, she married Kenneth E. Morrison, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1989.

Surviving is a daughter, Mary “Peggy” Sollenberger (Robert); two grandchildren: Christina “Tina” Mobley and Randall Sollenberger; two half-sisters: Ida, and Lorna; several cousins: Norma Dultry (Doyle), Martin McKelvey (Georgia), and Della Parks; a special niece, Jonnie Malovich; and a special nephew Buster Brunner.

She was preceded in death by a half-sister, Mary “Naomi”.

Freda was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of Canan Station Mennonite Church, where she was actively involved. She also enjoyed fellowshipping with her Tuesday morning Bible study group. . Freda was a homemaker, wife, and mother.

Friends will be received from 10am until the Noon funeral service on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Pastor Robert Davis and Pastor Tim McGarvey will co-officiate. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
