Harold Carl Fether, age 85, of Duncansville, passed unexpectedly at home on Wednesday morning, October 12, 2022. He was born April 5, 1937 in Roaring Spring, a son of the late Charles J. and Dorothy J. (Claar) Fether. He married Shirley L. Flaugh.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Shirley L. Fether of Duncansville; a daughter Donna Fether of East Freedom; a son Larry Fether (Michelle) of Altoona; three grandchildren: Ryan Fether (Ami) of Imler, Brennan Fether (Sarah) of Ebensburg, and Brianna Jones (Alec) of Williamsburg; five great-grandchildren: Bryson, Landry, Waylon, Easton, and Sawyer; two brothers: Thomas Fether (Diane) of FL and Paul Fether (Jan) of FL; and a sister Linda Cope (Chuck) of Carlisle.
He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald in 1946.
Harold was a 1956 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the National Guard. He was a truck driver for Ward Trucking for 43 years. In his retirement years, he drove truck for Keith’s Trucking.
He enjoyed fishing at his favorite place, Kettle Creek State Park. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, gardening, and keeping his yard nice. He was a NASCAR and Steelers fan. Harold loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 5 - 7pm, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 7pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Pastor Mark Lingenfelter will officiate services.
