Herbert L Wilt Sr.

Herbert L. Wilt, Sr., 75, Altoona, died Sunday evening, July 27, 2025 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. He was born August 3, 1949 in Altoona, a son of the late Ira L. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Lafferty) Wilt. He married Mary Louise Fogle on October 14, 1967 at St. Rose of Lima Church, Altoona.

Surviving is his wife; three sons: Herb Wilt Jr., Steve Wilt, and Timothy Wilt; 7 grandchildren: Kayle, Braden, Cayden, JayCee, Rachel, Kris, and Jonah; 3 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, William A. Wilt (Donna); and a sister, Debra Clair (Ronald).

He was preceded in death by a son, Scott on February 27, 2025 and 6 siblings: Marlene Harris, Dorothy Mae Carbonetti, Janice Rhodes, Ira “Sonny” Wilt Jr., Cheryl Consalvo, and Irene Arthur.

Herb worked for Penn Jacobson Fastener Corp. for 27 years, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
