Jack Campbell, age 92, of Hollidaysburg, died Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Guardian Healthcare - Hillview, Altoona. He was born March 27, 1930 in Hollidaysburg, a son of the late Willard Leroy and Clara Alma (Raible) Campbell.
Surviving is four sons: Jody M. Campbell (Shelly) of Oklahoma City, OK, Jack S. Campbell (Bonnie) of Duncansville, James C. Campbell (Candace) of Chandler, OK, and Jerry A. Campbell (Debbie) of Wyoming; a daughter Valerie A. Underwood (Chris) of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother Willard E. “Bill” Campbell (Nancy) of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Sally Ann Neff, Constance Araneda, Nancy Hummel, and Donald Campbell.
Jack attended Hollidaysburg High School. He was a graduate of Williamson Trade School with a degree in masonry. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War in 1953. He then enlisted in the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era from 1967-68. Jack retired from the Air Force in 1976 as an instructor. He earned rank of Master Sergeant.
He was a lifetime member of Duncansville VFW Post 8724, a lifetime member of Martinsburg VFW Post 43, where he was a past Commander, and was a member of American Legion Post 516 and Lodge #282 F&AM.
Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 10am to noon, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at noon at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment with Military Honors, accorded by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, will take place at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
