James E Brower

James E. Brower, age 69, of Altoona, died Monday, June 26, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family, following an extended illness. He was born December 20, 1953 in Altoona, a son of the late Benjamin B. Brower and Patricia L. (Maines) Brower-Fink. He married Carol J. Grassmyer. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2006.

He is survived by four daughters: Patricia, Angel, Colleen, and Tiffany Brower; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two siblings: Margaret Cowher and David Brower; and his significant other, Rhonda Fogal and her children: Richard, Cassie, and Brian Fogal.

He was preceded in death by four siblings: Robert Lee Brower, Harold Wm. Brower, Sharon Keith, and Mary Ellen Cowher.

Jim attended Tyrone Area High School. He was a US Navy veteran. He worked at Conner HVAC for 25 years, then retired from Carpenter Co.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Club in Altoona, where he shot pool. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
