James A Detrick

James A. Detrick, age 51, of Cresson, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 12, 1972 in Altoona, a son of Donald T. and Barbara A. (Hoffer) Detrick.

He is survived by his parents, Don and Barb Detrick; his spouse, Cristy L. (Greenwood) Detrick; two children: Caitlyn and Ben Detrick; a brother, Donny Detrick; and several nieces and nephews. He was looking forward to meeting Jupitor, his granddaughter that’s on the way.

He was a 1990 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a graduate of Altoona School of Nursing. He worked as a Registered Nurse for UPMC Altoona Family Physicians.

“Jimmy D”, as he was known by many, was a member of Duncansville Volunteer Fire Department, Keystone Regional Fire & Rescue Department, and Gallitzin I.M.S.

He enjoyed watching college football, hunting, playing Skills machines, going to trivia nights, watching his son Ben shoot trap, and spending time with his kids.

Friends will be received from 4-8pm on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 3 at the Duncansville Community Center.
