James P. Thomas, age 75, of Duncansville, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 14, 2018, at his residence. He was born Dec. 29, 1942 in Patton, son of the late Oscar E. and Rose (Mann) Thomas. He married Mary A. (Rhodes) Iddings on Jan. 30, 2004 in Kylertown.
Survived by his wife; a son Matthew Thomas (Jen) of Karthaus; a step-daughter Cindy Timps (George) of Michigan; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Delores Miller of Ashville and Valerie Weaver of Coalport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandson Elijah Amato.
Jim was a graduate of Patton High School. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Piper Aircraft and then retired from PermaGrain Products in Quehanna. He was a former member of the Lutheran church in Karthaus.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
At Jim’s request, there will be no viewing. A Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Vicki Beilfuss, will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 11am, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 3637 Main St., Karthaus, PA.
