Janice E (Long) Ruggles

Janice E. Ruggles, age 78, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at home after a five year battle with non small cell lung cancer and COPD. She was born June 10, 1946 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Cyril D. Long and Arlene E. (Gates) Long-Civils. She married Jeffrey P. Ruggles on July 2, 1992 in Winchester, VA.

Surviving is her husband, Jeffrey; a son, Matthew Picano (Kimberly); two step-daughters: Andrea Walker and Jessica Ramish (Richard); two brothers: Terry Long and Kevin Long; and two sisters: Gaila Koval and Mary Fornwalt (Jay).

She was preceded in death by two brothers: R. Craig Long and H. Kent Long, and her first husband, Richard Picaro.

Janice was a 1964 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She enjoyed both interior and exterior decorating, flower gardening, and music.

Friends will be received from 10am until the noon funeral service on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Pastor Michael Blackie will officiate. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
