Joan L (Geesey) Weigner

Joan L. Weigner, age 90, of Duncansville, died Monday evening, November 28, 2022 at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born May 2, 1932 in Altoona, daughter of the late Norman E. and Blanche M. (Kenepp) Geesey.

Survived by two sons: Darrell Wallace (Jeannie) and Bruce Wallace (Alma); 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands: Harvey S. Wallace in 1984 and Ronald B. Weigner, Sr. in 2019; a son Michael in 1994; and two sisters: Norma Karas and Jane Craine.

Joan was a graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 27 years.

She was a member of Dry Run Independent Bible Church and a past member of the Young Farmers Association.

Joan enjoyed sewing and going on bus trips to casinos at Seneca, Atlantic City, and Rocky Gap.

Friends will be received on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 2-4pm, immediately followed by a funeral service at 4pm, officiated by Pastor Tim Bartholomew, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. Interment will take place at Dry Run Cemetery.
