Jordan Scott Powers, age 36, of Everett, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. He was born February 18, 1986, a son of the late Kathy Jo (Powers) Luke, who preceded him in death on November 22, 2020.
Surviving are his step-father, Thomas H. Black III; a daughter, Peyton Jade Foor; a brother, Hunter K. Luke; and his grandmother, Sandra K. Powers.
Jordan was a man of great strength. At first glance, his physical prowess was obvious, but his real strength was the quiet fortitude displayed when faced with many tragic and tumultuous events in his short life. Despite challenging setbacks, he never blamed others for his misfortunes. He was fun loving, polite, hardworking, stubborn and caring to a fault.
His strength of determination enabled him to overcome a learning disability to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Cumberland University, Lebanon, TN. During his high school and college career, he excelled in wrestling earning scholarships and attaining the prestigious All American status. During his freshman year, a near fatal car accident left him in chronic pain which ultimately led to challenges with addiction and his untimely death.
