Karen J. Ritchey, age 82, of Bellwood, passed away comfortably on Friday, November 29, 2024, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born October 14, 1942 in Blue Knob, daughter of the late Elvin J. and Hazel M. (Wilt) Ritchey.
Surviving are five children: John Martin (Theresa), Tom Martin (Amy), Karen Padula, Steve Martin (Jen) and Danny Martin (Joanna); 11 grandchildren: Adam Martin, Grant Martin (Mairi), Megan Sunderland (Josh), Nate Martin, Ben Martin, Emily Martin, Paige Aquadro (Ambrose), Joey Padula, Garrett Martin, Ty Martin and A.J. Martin; and three great-grandchildren: Chase Martin, Dakota Martin and Leo Aquadro.
Karen was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a member of Logan Valley Presbyterian Church, Bellwood, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school and was involved with the youth group for many years. She was a former member of the Altoona Chorus of Sweet Adelines.
She enjoyed crafting and sewing, playing piano and going on local day-trips. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen loved traveling with her family, especially to her favorite place, Disney.
Friends will be received on from 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Logan Valley Presbyterian Church, Bellwood, Pastor Nathan Koozer officiating.
