Kathy Ott Obituary

Kathy Ann Ott, age 67, of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was born November 24, 1956 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Leo J. Jr. and Helen M. (Closson) Berg. She married R. William “Bill” Ott, Jr. on May 10, 1975. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 2022.

Surviving are two sons: Travis Ott (Amanda) and Matthew Ott (fiancé Nadia Lucas); five siblings: Leo Berg III (Kim), Karen Longo (John), Cindy Smith, Michael Berg (Roxi), and Tina Ashburn (Chad); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Berg.

Kathy was a 1974 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She worked 17 years at Value City Dept. Store and then at Giant Eagle in Altoona, retiring after 11 years.

She was a member of Leamersville Church of the Brethren.

Kathy loved making and sharing many crafts with friends and family. At Christmas time, for around 18 years, she restored hundreds of Cabbage Patch dolls for kids that were donated to Toys for Tots. Friends and family contributed dolls, clothes, and accessories.

She and Bill liked to take road trips and spent a lot of time with their dogs, Harley and Mugsy.

Friends will be received from 1 until the 3pm funeral service on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Pastor Luke Miller will officiate. Interment will take place at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
