Lois G (Hite) Ritchey

Lois G. Ritchey, age 89, a resident of Maybrook Hills, Altoona, formerly of Roaring Spring, died Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the home. She was born May 15, 1933 at home in Blair Township, a daughter of the late Sheldon E. and Gladys M. (Baker) Hite.

Survived by her children: Fred Ritchey (Becky) of Williamsburg, Tim Ritchey (Lois) of Roaring Spring, Jeff Ritchey (Winnie) of Blue Knob, Kevin Ritchey (Theresa) of East Freedom, and Debbie Lutz of Hollidaysburg; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Jane Doebler, Patricia Smith, and Suzie Ickes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred F. Ritchey in 1992; a daughter, Mary Ann Ritchey; a son, Monte Dru Ritchey; a granddaughter Amy Ritchey-Taylor; three sisters: Dolores Dodson, Marjorie Hite, and Audrey Glass; and a brother, Sheldon Hite.

Lois attended St. Patrick’s School. She previously worked at Slinky in Hollidaysburg. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Roaring Spring.

She enjoyed line-dancing, camping, and was an avid collector of Native American memorabilia.

Private visitation for family will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 11am until the 1pm funeral service, officiated by Father Allen Zeth, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
