Lois A. “Cookie” Shaffer, age 81, of Altoona, died Monday, July 10, 2023, following an extended illness. She was born June 19, 1942 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Helen L. (Shoenfelt) and Mearle C. Shaffer Sr.
She is survived by a brother Mearle Shaffer Jr.; two nephews: Bryan Lytle and Steven Lytle; a niece Sherri Garland; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Lynne Black and Mary Lytle, and her partner Brenda Brantner.
Cookie was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. She previously worked at Butterick for 40 years.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services. Interment will take place at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
