Marshall Ray “Buddy” Simpson, age 83, of Buffalo Mills, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 3, 1938 in Madley, son of the late William Ray and Marguerite (Bowser) Simpson.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Terri Dibert of Bedford; a grandson, Matthew Simpson of Hot Springs, Ark.; three granddaughters: Shannon Kane (husband Kyle) of Bedford, Tosha Dibert (partner Brad McFarland) of Everett, and Cassi Lingenfelter (husband Seth) of Bedford; and three great-grandsons: Bryson and Ira Lingenfelter and Brayden Kane, all of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by two wives: Maebelle (Gaster) and then Joanne (O’Neal), whom he married on Oct. 29, 1977 in Bedford; two sons: Matthew and Mark Simpson; and a sister, Naomi Green.
Marshall previously lived and worked in Lancaster. He retired from WalMart, Bedford. He formerly served as Assistant Chief of Police for Bedford Boro. and also served as a policeman in Cumberland, MD and Everett.
He attended Gravel Pit Bethel United Methodist Church. Marshall enjoyed antiques, flea markets, auctions, collecting Native American items, woodworking, and visiting with family, friends, and neighbors.
Friends will be received on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10am until the 11am memorial service at Gravel Pit Bethel United Methodist Church (6292 Hyndman Rd,. Buffalo Mills, PA 15534).
