Mary Jane Ferguson

Mary Jane (Gearhart) Ferguson, age 68, of Waynesboro, formerly of Chambersburg and Duncansville, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 in her home.

Born March 23, 1949 in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Dean E. and Aletha M. (Spidle) Gearhart of Duncansville.

She married Lester E. Ferguson on Mar. 20, 1969 in Duncansville Lutheran Church. Her beloved husband passed away Jan. 12, 2009.

Mrs. Ferguson was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School, Class of 1967 and later attended the Altoona Hospital School of Medical Technology.

She is survived by one daughter, Leslie M. Johnson Coble (husband Lonnie) of Waynesboro; two precious grandchildren: Erin Lacey Johnson and Matthew Duncan Johnson; two brothers, Edward C. Gearhart (wife Cindy) and Scott W. Gearhart (wife Beth), all of Duncansville; sister-in-law, Carol Gearhart of Duncansville; brother-in-law, Dr. Chet Ferguson (wife Diana) of Columbia, SC; sister-in-law, Shirley Weidley (husband Scott) of Altoona; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro.

Friends will then be received from 2-4PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville, immediately followed by a time of remembrance at 4PM. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
