Mary K (Sprouse) Reid

Mary K. Reid, age 84, of Duncansville, died Tuesday evening, July 31, 2018, at the Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born January 1, 1934 in Altoona, daughter of the late Herman and Julia (Ranochak) Sprouse. She married James S. Reid, who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2008.

Survived by 2 sons: James M. (Susan) Reid of Houston, TX and Jeffrey S. (Patty) Reid of Martinsburg; 3 daughters: Patti J. (Michael) Metz of Martinsburg, Linda S. Steele of Norristown, NJ, and Barbara A. (Daniel) Showalter of Duncansville; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Armand William Sprouse of Port Orange, FL; and a sister Carole Bellizia of Altoona

She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Sprouse and a great-granddaughter Brielle Lana Harmon

Mary was a graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from Veeder-Root. She was a past member of Newry Lutheran Church and attended Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg

Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren

There will be no public viewing. Funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jerry McCuller, will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
