Maureen E Hannemann

Maureen E. Hannemann, age 91, a resident of Bedford, formerly of North Carolina, joined her Savior on Saturday morning, December 23, 2017. Born September 22, 1926 in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late Carl and Dagny (Larson) Gustafson, she married Carl W. Hannemann, who preceded her in death in 2012.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Charlotte of Vermilion, IL, married to Michael Bennett; Karen of Clearville, PA, married to Cliff Cregger; and Jill of Gaithersburg, MD, married to John Vanderweit. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Frieberg, and her brothers Truman, Raymond, and Herbert Gustafson.

Maureen retired from the National Institute of Mental Health, where she worked in Psychology. She volunteered as a Braille teacher and transcriber for more than 30 years and did other volunteer work as well.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Services and interment will take place privately at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hendersonville, NC, at the convenience of the family.
