P. Merle Russell, age 81, of Duncansville, died Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born April 18, 1943 in Hollidaysburg, a son of the late Paul M. "Pete" and Theda M. (Ringler) Russell. He married Sally A. Ebling on June 16, 1962. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2017.
Surviving are his children: Craig Russell, Christine Barry (Ralph), and Crystal Marketta (Joe); 8 grandchildren: Kevin, Keith, Dylan, Tyler, Nicholas, Natalie, Brayden, and Jordyn; 5 great-grandchildren: David, Carmen, Kaleb, Kayden, and Jemma; and a brother, John “Jack” Russell (Jane).
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Michele, on August 19, 2023.
Merle was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. For 45 years, he as the owner and operator of Russell’s Repair and Service in Hollidaysburg.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 5 until the 7pm funeral service at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Pastor Don Mast will officiate.
