Robert T. Kelley, Sr., age 84, of Altoona, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 28, 2022 at UPMC Altoona. He was born June 27, 1937 in Duncansville, son of the late Harry T. and Maxine S. (Keck) Kelley. He married Kathlyn J. “Katie” Shannon on May 21, 1964 at 58th Street UMC, Altoona. She preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 2013.
Surviving are three sons: Robert T., Jr. (Kathy) of Altoona, Stephen J. (Crisanne) of Altoona, and Jeffery D. (Kelly “Lynn”) of Houston, TX; 7 grandchildren: Brandon, Paige, Joshua, Acacia, Zachary, Faith, and Madelynn; two great-grandchildren: Elowen and Newo; 6 siblings: Don, Tim, and Daryl Kelley, Nancy Yeckley, Marlene Allison, and Sharon Hunter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan B. (Santone) Kelley and two brothers: Ralph and Fred Kelley.
Robert was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and attended St. Francis University. He retired from A.R.E. in Hagerstown, MD. He attended Hick’s United Methodist Church, where he had sang in the choir. He was a member of the Heidelberg County Club and was active in the Hollidaysburg Community Choir. He enjoyed model railroading.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 6-8pm and on Friday, April 29 from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Rev. Rich Morris, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hick’s Memorial United Methodist Church (1211 3rd Ave., Duncansville, PA 16635).
