Robert Douglas McGirk

Robert Douglas McGirk, age 48, of Altoona, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 14, 2019, in Altoona. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late John D. McGirk III and Nancy (Morrison) McGirk.

He is survived by a daughter Harley Rayann McGirk of Altoona; a brother John D. McGirk IV of Pittsburgh; and two nieces: Kirstin Marie McGirk and Katelynn Elaina McGirk.

Doug was a 1988 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a handyman, and worked in construction.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was a fan of sports and music. Doug had a zest for living life to the fullest. He often stood up to bullies while defending the weak. He loved his daughter with all of his heart.

There will be no public viewing or services.
