Roy Richard Shultz, age 88, of Hollidaysburg, died Friday evening, December 10, 2021 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring, following a brief illness. He was born April 18, 1933 in Altoona, a son of the late Roy J. and Catherine (Pilshaw) Shultz. He married Donna A. Piper on Dec. 15, 1956 at Duncansville Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Donna; two sons: Douglas R. Shultz (wife Shelly) and David A. Shultz; a granddaughter, Natalie Mills (husband Kevin); a brother, John J. Shultz (wife Anita); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Rigby.
He was a 1951 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1953-55. He worked for A&P for 31 years, and then worked for Blair Township Highway Dept. for 13 years, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Shultz was a life member of Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church. He was a 65 year member of Portage Masonic Lodge #220 and a 55 year member of the Greenwood Rod & Gun Club.
Dick and Donna built their home with lots of love from family and friends. They were very blessed with great neighbors.
A funeral service, with military honors, will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor John Godissart. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
