Ruth A. Barry, age 72, died Monday, August 15, 2022 at the home of Mark and Lisa Snyder and Michael Sell in Hollidaysburg. She was born August 3, 1950 in Claysburg, daughter of the late O. Ray and Florence E. (Helsel) Dibert.
Surviving are a son, Donald R. Claar (Heidi) of Osterburg; a daughter, Lisa Snyder (Mark) of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren: Katie and Kimi Claar, and Daniel, Hannah, and Michael Sell; two great-grandchildren: Scarlet and Klaus; two sisters; a brother, O. Ray Dibert, Jr.; and her former husband, Donald B. Claar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dean Barry, Jr. in 2015, and an infant sister, Shirley.
Ruth retired from K-Mart. She previously worked at Chilcoat’s Restaurant. She volunteered at the Frohsinn Club, Altoona.
Ruth was a fan of Notre Dame. She loved her cat, “Baby”. She enjoyed going on Sunday drives and spending time with her granddaughters. Ruth had a special bond with her grandson, Michael. “It’s all ok”.
There will be no public services.
