Ruth Williams Obituary

Ruth E. Williams, age 78, of Duncansville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at UPMC Altoona, following a brief illness. She was born May 1, 1942, at home, in Duncansville, a daughter of the late Henry E. and Alma A. (Wilt) Snyder. She married Daryl S. Williams on Aug. 5, 1961 at Foot of Ten Bible Church.

Survived by her husband, Daryl; 3 children: Scott Williams (Cheryl) of Blue Knob, Mark Williams (Kylie) of Hollidaysburg, and Heidi Snyder (Bill) of East Freedom; 8 grandchildren: Orrin, Billy, Tyler, Andrew, Kara, Lydia, Lincoln, and Madison; 6 great-grandchildren: Silas, Maddox, Ted, Finley, Lynn, and Wren; and a brother, Duane Snyder of Georgia.

She was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Anna Roup and Ellsworth "June" Snyder, Joe Snyder, Don Snyder and Bobby Snyder; her parents-in-law: Delbert and Frances Williams; a brother-in-law, Ted Williams; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Williams.

Ruth was a 1960 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a past secretary for Ward Trucking and then worked as secretary for Foot of Ten Bible Church for many years, where she past attended and also taught Sunday school and helped with the Girls Club. She currently attended Berean Baptist Church.

Ruth enjoyed baking, helping others, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and friends and the Lord.

Friends will be received from 9-11am on Fri., Feb. 5, 2021 followed by a funeral service at 11am, officiated by Pastor Barry Fry, all at Berean Baptist Church, 2465 Mill Rd., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (Department 142, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38148-0142) and/or Shriner’s Hospital for Children (Processing Center, PO Box 863765, Orlando, FL 32886).
