Ruthann Lykens, age 65, of Duncansville, died Saturday evening, March 8, 2025 at home, with her loving husband by her side, following an extended illness. She was born January 3, 1960 in Altoona, the daughter of the late Andrew Sr. and Jean (Engle) Walter. She married Jon Dean Lykens on Oct. 20, 1990 at the Penn State All Faith’s Chapel, Altoona.
Survived by her beloved husband, Jon; a brother, Andrew Walter (wife Karen) of Hollidaysburg; many nieces; many great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Fred and John Walter.
Ruthann was a 1978 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and a 1984 graduate of Penn State, where she studied to be a Registered Nurse and a Certified Gerontology Nurse. She retired as a Nurse Instructor from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
Ruthann was a very selfless person and always put others first, helping out whomever she could. She loved animals and had many treasured pets over the years.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services.
