S. Long Obituary

S. Louise Long, 94, Duncansville, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at home. She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late Anthony Lloyd and Susan (Carnill) Johnston. She married Elton E. Long on June 18, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2017.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Long of Duncansville and her son, Seth; two sons: Daniel Long (Barb) of Montana and their children: Jere and John and families and Timothy Long (Jenny) of Johnstown and their children: Mace, Colter and Cael; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Louise was the last of her immediate family, being preceded in death by 6 siblings: Alva Ebling, Margaret Killinger, Mary Stiffler, and Bennett, Harvey and Thomas Johnston.

Louise was a 1944 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She worked at Sylvania, Altoona Shoe Factory, and retired from Cove Shoe. She then worked at Target for many years.

She was a member of Leamersville Grace Fellowship Church. She enjoyed crocheting and visits from her family and grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 1-3pm on Sun., Jan. 3, 2021 at Leamersville Grace Fellowship Church. Funeral services will follow and will be private for family. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
