Scott W. Gearhart, age 63, of Duncansville, died Monday evening, July 5, 2021 at UPMC Altoona following a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 3, 1958 in Atloona, a son of the late Dean E. and Aletha M. (Spidle) Gearhart. He married Beth A. Loose on Oct. 19, 2016 in Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his wife, Beth Gearhart; four children: Timothy Gearhart (Megan), Nicki Keagy (Chuck), Holly McGonigle (Eric), and Lisa Ketner; two step-children: Shannon Imler (Jeff) and Kellen Glenny; 9 grandchildren: Mason, Haley, Scotty, Ali, Tessa, Destiny, Thomas, Ella, and Landon; a brother, Edward Gearhart (Cindy), two nieces: Leslie and Jen; and a nephew, Ken. He is also survived by his former spouse, Carol Gearhart.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Ferguson.
Scott was a 1976 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a truck driver for McClanahan Corp, Hollidaysburg. He was a lifetime member of Duncansville Volunteer Fire Dept. – Station 20, where he was Chief for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, his antique fire-truck, and spending time with all his grandchildren. Scott loved his dog, Boo Boo.
Friends will be received on Thurs., July 8, 2021 from 1-3 and 5-9pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville, where a fireman’s service will be held in the evening. A funeral service will be held on Fri., July 9 at 11am at the Duncansville Community Center, officiated by Pastor Rebecca Holland. Committal services, along with Last Call, will follow at Alto-Reste Cemetery, Altoona.
