Vernon L Rhodes

Vernon L. “Butchie” Rhodes III, age 57, of Hollidaysburg, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, August 27, 2023. He was born July 10, 1966 in Altoona, son of Bonnie J. (Dugan) Rhodes and the late Vernon L. Rhodes Jr.

He is survived by a son, Auston “AJ” Rhodes; his mother; a sister, Brenda Rhodes (Fred Ickes); two nephews: Trevor Martin (Logan) and Trentin Martin (Julia Schaffer); a great-niece, Sadie; and a grandmother, Vivian Dugan.

Butchie was a 1984 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a US Navy veteran. He last worked for Value Drug Co., Altoona.

He was a fan of all PennState sports, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the New England Patriots, and WWE wrestling. He previously enjoyed bowling.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 5-7pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
