Virginia Shirey Obituary

Virginia A. "Ginger" Shirey, age 61, of Bedford, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at UPMC Altoona. She was born Dec. 20, 1959 in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Douglas A. and Betty A. (Little) Rayle.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Shirey of Morrisdale; 3 children: Lisa Ilgen of Chambersburg, Douglas Ilgen of Bedford, and Mike Ilgen of Chambersburg; 4 grandchildren: Skye Ilgen of Columbus, OH, Jennifer Ilgen of Bedford, Cierra Faust of Somerset, and Douglas Allen Ilgen of Pittsburg; a sister Cathy Werdebaugh of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ginger was a graduate of Shippensburg Area High School. She enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting dolls, and loved going on long country rides. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
