Wayne F. Berkheimer, age 86, of Duncansville, died Friday night, May 19, 2023 at his home following an extended illness. He was born August 13, 1936 at home in Hollidaysburg, a son of the late Thomas L. Berkheimer Sr. and Alice (Harpster) Berkheimer. He married Janet E. Garlick on Jan. 24, 1964. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2017.
Survived by two daughters: Mary Alice Berkheimer of Frankstown and Brenda Jean Hipple of Snow Shoe; 7 grandchildren: Ashley, Charles, Cierra, Brannon Jr., Timothy, Samantha, and Shane; and 7 great-grandchildren: Harper, Courtlynn, John, Sophia, Asta, Alex, and Manson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jane Kuhns, in 2022; a granddaughter, Courtney, in 2006; and 5 siblings: Paul Berkheimer, Melvin Berkheimer, Charles Berkheimer, Thomas Berkheimer Jr., and Viola “Jane” Walter.
Wayne was a US Marine Corps veteran. He retired from US Sports in Huntingdon, where he was a sewing machine mechanic.
He enjoyed hunting and loved his dogs.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 10am until the noon funeral service at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Duncansville. Pastor Dave Huston will officiate. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
